Thank you for your interest in safeguarding adults and working with us to ensure people live their lives safeguarded from abuse and neglect.
Northamptonshire Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB) is a statutory function under the Care Act 2014. The purpose of Safeguarding Adult Boards is to help and protect adults in its area and ensure that multi-agency safeguarding arrangements work effectively so that adults are able to live their lives free from abuse or neglect.
Safeguarding Boards bring together statutory partners, the Local Authority (or authorities as is the case in Northamptonshire), the Integrated Care Board, and the Police, and other key agencies to oversee the prevention of harm for adults with care and support needs (whether the local authority is meeting those needs or not), for example adults who have a physical and/or learning disability, those with mental ill health or older adults who may not have capacity to make decisions for themselves.
We hope you find this website helpful as a member of the public who may have safeguarding concerns about themselves or for a family member, friend or neighbour or in your professional role.
